Recommended Criteria for Healthy Together Coaches:

Qualification in areas including education, nutrition or dietetics, physical activity, behavior change, social work, psychology
Experience facilitating groups
Experience working with children and parents
Recommend background check for all coaches, but particularly if coaches are alone with children
Coaches should only recommend MEND nutritional guidelines and principles

Items

Modular, electronically delivered curriculum includes 10 one-hour interactive families’ sessions and 10 one-hour parents only sessions. Included with subscription is the Coach’s Starter Kit which contains all of the key demonstration resources needed to effectively deliver Healthy Together:

Fats and sugars box: a plastic box with clip handles that contains 12 empty plastic bottles and 6 resealable plastic bags, together with instructions about how to build the Fats and sugars kit, and grain sample bags.
Demonstration pack: a shrink-wrapped print pack containing laminated examples of food labels, together with “cheat” sheets for the coach.
Poster pack: nutrition targets poster, nutrition target covers and food-group pictures for use by the coach

Replenishable Family Materials (For 12 families):

Family learning packs: Parents’ and Kids’ handbooks with helpful information for families, covering each topic discussed in the program.
Other resources: Detective cards-credit card sized resources to help guide families through the label-reading steps, conveniently sized to fit into a wallet so families can carry it with them when they visit a supermarket. Good things about me posters and Goals and Rewards star charts.
